Client: Obstetric Anaesthetists’ Association (OAA)
Project Description
The OAA supports education, research and advocacy in the field of obstetric anaesthesia, with a strong focus on improving care during labour and delivery. Its sister site, LabourPains, provides trusted, evidence-based information for expectant parents and healthcare professionals around the world.
I’ve worked with OAA as a consultant copywriter for several years, supporting them across a range of editorial and communications projects. I first joined the team to write the content for the relaunch of the OAA website, which was redesigned to improve usability and navigation for members.
This initial project led to further collaboration on the LabourPains website, where I began in a copy editing role and have since done a full rewrite. The aim is to make the content more accessible to expectant parents from all socio-economic backgrounds and ethnicities, as well as make it easier to translate. The updated site will be available in 30+ languages.
I also edit the OAA Trustees’ Annual Report and use that material to create the shorter, more public-facing OAA Annual Review, an overview of the organisation’s activities, achievements and impact throughout the year.
